Directed by Timothy Allsop, Kira Allmann, and Suzy Shepherd
Music by Conor Molloy
Description
The main shoot took place over three days in the summer of 2021 between two lockdowns. We worked with a small team to gather the interviews and film on location. The Museum of East Anglian Life kindly gave us space to film on their agricultural land for some of the shots, as well as providing a safe space to carry out the interviews.
The film was produced by Turn of Phrase, Cherry Soup and Fresh Cut Video Ltd. We worked on a micro budget and Kira and I are grateful for the many people gave their time generously.
While the film works as a stand alone piece, it is part of a much larger creative and research project. Take a look at the play which toured rural heritage venues alongside the film, and our research pages.
The project is open-ended and we are interested in collecting more oral testimonies. The archive will be available through TORCH, The Cultural Humanities Programme at Oxford University.
